how we work

Every member of the Lavery Pennell team brings relevant experience and a business focus, combined with a personal passion for better, more sustainable and profitable solutions.

We recognise that the market changes that create substantial profit improvement opportunities, as well as the ways to unlock them, can be unfamiliar to client staff. Our approach is to work alongside clients, educating them on the possibilities and harnessing the client’s specific expertise to identify and agree profit improvement opportunities that are relevant for their situation. We provide proven frameworks and tools for unlocking this value and build economic cases for change in the language of the CFO and finance team.

Our approach is ‘sleeves rolled up’ working together with clients at their sites/offices. As engineers and experienced business people ourselves, we collaborate with clients across all parts of the organisation from line staff to Board members. We find this ability to work across client organisations helps to build consensus and ensure the practicality of solutions.

We think that high level strategy is not enough. To assist with the approval and implementation of recommendations we develop costed business cases, implementation plans and enablers (such as KPIs, training, or governance), and assist with key presentations.

Our size and responsiveness allows us to work with clients in a flexible way to suit their specific situations. We offer different engagement arrangements from ad hoc workshops to full-time project teams to ongoing retainer relationships. We can work on a traditional time and materials basis or success fees/other structures to suit.

We are the preferred partner of Booz & Company in Europe for low-carbon and sustainability consulting expertise and through this relationship we are also able to draw on Booz & Company resources for larger projects or additional management consulting expertise as required.
